I'm not really sure what this forum is all about. Not very active.
But, for those who search want to figure out things, I'll be happy to help those in what I had to figure out myself.
What took 3 weeks, could have been answered in mere minutes.
To do palm debugging on a device, simply put that device into debug mode. This will cause the USB link to then be active via GODS or probably any USB IDE.
So, here's the steps:
1. Install Palm Desktop to add the proper USB driver
2. Put the palm into debug mode. (shift + hot synch button)
3. Go to your IDE and select USB as your target and go into debug mode.
Everything is cool..except for my problems I now have to debug.
Hope this help somebody!

actually, no it doesn't help, at least not me. I have a Centro as well, and followed all the steps: put the device into console mode (and tried debug mode). turned off hot sync. told CW9.3 and Garnet both that the device was USB connected. neither app will talk to the centro. I'm ready to melt the Centro down with a blowtorch. I've wasted two days on this. Does the centro need a special "debugger nub" like Nokia phones do? Some kind of "TRK-like" app I need to install first? Also, do I need to mess around with the "DebugPrefs" PRC file and set things in it? Does anybody know if Centros only allow debugging via a serial cable?

Sorry, you are having so much difficulty, and understand totally!!
No, you don't have to have anything special. Once you put it into console mode and that little blinking dot is indicating you are in that mode. GODS in debug w/ the target set at USB (like you said you did) was all it took to get it to work.
The only thing i can think of that I may have done inadvertently to make it work is to install Palm Desktop. But, since you said you turned off hot synch then you must have installed it.
Instead of disabling hot synch, did you kill the application. I know I'm not running it when I debug the application.
