I would like to know the answer to your question. I am a beginning computerscience major and would like to develop a program on my Lifedrive to start the learning of Palm development. I have been doing lots of reading, but so far have not put it all together yet.

I suggest you download J2ME WebSphere from IBM, this is enviroment of java for Palm devices, then register at "Palm developer network", in menu develop->java there is some info that can be useful for you(some links will get you here, some pages will say about license of J2ME for Palm Inc., they have no right to distribute JVM anymore). After you will get J2ME, you will need to go here http://java.sun.com/javame/sdk/index.jsp, those enviroments should be capable to create MIDlet applications(for java mobile). J2ME WebSphere from IBM is needed to run your app on Garnet OS device.

After some search i found superwaba
its works nice
but there is one problem here
i have all required utilities available in superwaba community version
only conduit manager is available in pro version
now only for conduit manager it is not practical to buy it
so i think it might be programmed in garnet os sdk
is it done?

About WEME(Webshpere Everyplace Micro Enviroment), it cost 5.99$.
As I understood you will be writting for Palm z22 and don't need to have an application for wide variety of devices, SuperWaba will be a good choice.
Conduits for Palm are developed using Conduit Development Kit(CDK) not by SDK, if you know what SuperWaba's conduit do(with what data it operates), writting your own conduit will take some time... or a lot of time.

WEME on simulator from Garnet OS Development Suite will not work, try to download simulator from palm development network for your device, copy *.dll to folder where you will install it, drag(or install) *.prc from jvm/simulator folder to simulator.

Are you sure that your program is MIDlet, because those tools will work only with that type program.

This file is already .prc in my "Samples" folder "GolfScoreTracker.prc". In "Documentation" folder there is some info to those tools, all I know about those tools:
"jartoprc.exe" - converts .jar(or .jad+.jar) to .prc, 'jartoprc.exe -jar:midlet.jar', for more info "jartoprc.exe -help";
"jartoprc_w.exe" - is windows gui for "jartoprc.exe".
Download a MIDlet from this website, try converting it to .prc, worked for me.

From website I gave you before download MIDlet, with name PCalc(.jad+.jar), try to convert it with "jartoprc_w.exe" and tell me result. By the way you told that you have downloaded weme 6 form ibm, how did you got it? It is not availiable as trial, only for sale.

I wasn't able to download weme 6 from ibm due to their license, which allows downloading for only US residents, it states that other countries will not protect their copyright properly, I'm from Italy(EU), it is really funny how corporations protecting their software(when it is trialware).
As to convertion of .jar to .prc, we have to have the same version of weme.
