I'd like to download the ALP SDK 2.4 VMware appliance that was mentioned in the developer newsletter I received yesterday. [I'm hoping that the VM appliance part was not an April fool's joke...]

When I go to Downloads, I just see the ALP SDK 2.4 main download, then the 6 split file downloads. There's no mention of the VMware appliance download.

Where do I get the VMware appliance version of the SDK?

It will be available in a couple of days... we're getting the file size down as much as possible to make it easier to download. I'll post in this thread when it's ready.

I spent the time, effort and bandwidth to download the sdk only to find that the announced vmware appliance was not a part of that download.

I was disappointed then and now, two weeks later, I am still disappointed. I don't want to spend a lot of time describing the balance of "large file size" versus shaking the faith of the community. Those are Access business decisions I have no authority in nor influence over.

Instead, I had better use the brain power to formulate cogent explanations for my pm on why pursuing Palm support consumes so much of my resources with paltry results.

I cannot justify another machine to test your SDK with the waning support here. Please inform this thread if you ever release the appliance. If Palm support survives on our end, I will give it a try.

Sorry for your troubles. The VMWare appliance for Windows is available for download. It is the ALP SDK 2.4 on Ubuntu 7.10.

I downloaded vmware img. But it seems that missing
/scratchbox/ALP/rootstrap/alp-x86-dbg-*
How an I get it?

since i have the same problem i can't launch the emulator.
it seems that packages from vmware image are not intalled correctly.
Can anybody of ALP Help me please.

What is the problem you are experiencing? Have you tried restarting Ubunutu first? (Sometimes for an initial installation you need to restart the VM, first).
