A few questions about the NetFront 2008/04/08 12:25 Karma: 0
Hi...

I'm developing a website which needs to be viewable for mobile devices. As I try optimizing it for NetFront (v3.5 on an SE W890i), a few problems occured:

  1. Although I read the Browser is capable of CSS 2.1, it seems the CSS-properties position: absolute and overflow:hidden are not working, or??

  2. When I set (per javascript) a hidden html-element (display: none) on display:block, the Browser has problems with rendering/displaying the content.(just a plain white area is displayed, but when I scroll around a little bit, the content appears)

  3. I include a lot of images per CSS background, but when I load the site, only the Elements in the viewport display the CSS-background-image, others don't even reload

Are there any workarounds for any of these problems??.. thank you for your help!!!

-------------------------------
ps

OK, I found out that the first two problems only occur when SmartFit-Rendering is on. Is there anything I can to disable users SmartFit on my site??....Picture-problem is not solved yet. I would be glad, if someone could give me help!!

It is a real pleasure to see, that no one has an answer to my question, even the developers don't!...
So why are you developing a browser, with no ability for the web-developer to interact??
..and overall, why is there an developer forum, where no developer gives an answer!!??...hope you'll reply to this!!

I understand your frustrations... this is a new community and I hope you will be patient with us as we build out our technical support offerings. There will be dedicated people answering development related questions very soon. Our engineers are focusing on building the technology itself so we are unable to use their resources.

The more questions you ask, the better for building the community so I encourage you to keep at it!

For the ACCESS Linux Platform, there is no public announcement with a date yet, but we have announced that an ALP based Samsung device will be shipping on the Orange Network.

The platform is ready to go and in the hands of device manufacturers so again I say "stay tuned"

thanks for the response of clarity. we need to start setting goals and ideas and pull this all together as a community is expected to.
